A wingless flight

Because she didn’t seem to understand, something he made her see,

it was really not a lie when he said “you mean the world to me”.

She showed him that to love can be something very great,

But she also showed him very clearly how destructive it can be,

It took him loads of courage and time to find someone to trust,

But now he’s hurt and his once so shiny heart is just a piece of rust.

He would’ve liked to say “I love you” but he kept it to a goodbye,

Because love would mean some falling and she had been his wings to fly.
